Many thanks for your insights and so glad you are feeling better! This just reinforces the reasons why we need to fact check what we hear and read, regardless of the source. We should also remember that if you do a good job of controlling what you can control in your life, that you should not worry obsessively about who is in charge or which side has the majority! Just my humble thoughts.

Welcome back, hope you feel better.

Harris did not say she would cut taxes, but would increase them. Adding capital gains at much higher rates like 44% and even taxing (or trying) on unrealized gains. The later would be a nightmare.

When a taxed unrealized gain goes down, one would get a credit. I don’t think she could get this passed. But by no means is she saying she will lower taxes.

If she / they do not renew the Trump

Reform in 2025. Everyone gets a tax increase. It reverts back to 2017 tables.

The only ones that would give a break to are the wealthy in CA, IL, NY that get hit with SALT 10K limitation.

And the point I was making is that neither has a plan for balancing the budget and/or paying down the debt.

I did read it and don’t necessarily disagree with any of its conclusions. But my initial comment was that both Trump and Harris say they will cut taxes, and that statement was accurate.

Got ya, I think she said she will raise taxes for a certain sector (200K, 300K, 400K ??) and lower it for others the “middle class” undefined. She is a good politician !

Trump will renew the Trump TAX CUTS from 2018. That will not be an increase. Harris was just political talking and with no detail.

Thanks for the link to that minister. I really liked what he had to say. Someone like that could tempt me to go back to church!

Yet again, sage advice. By the way, I DID watch the video you linked and instantly found the preacher I've been looking for. I do have a very good friend, a retired UCC preacher who, I think, would agree with everything this young man said. I know I do.

Welcome back! Fiercely Independent was missed. As to this current writing - our nation's political pendulum swings left to right, then right to left, and never even slows down in the middle. If it could ever be organized, the center, or Independent would probably the fastest growing party in the country.

Agree, no real plan from either, but that will take 8-12 years even with a very good plan.
